Pelikan produced this pen as a special order for the famous watch company Chronoswiss (a mechanical watch manufacturer currently based out of Lucerne).
Built off of the M800 chassis, the Styloscope was a numbered, limited edition of just 999 pieces which was not sold by Pelikan.
Mr. Gerd Lang, founder and former owner of Chronoswiss, loved Pelikan pens. He signed all 7000 annual certificates of his Chronoswiss watches with a Pelikan M800 green demonstrator released in 1992 for the US market.
The Styloscope was commissioned in 2002 as a special order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the company Mr. Lang founded. This pen is a dark green transparent Pelikan M800 body, with sterling silver furniture and styling unique to it.
The end of the clip, trim ring at the piston, and the cap top give the appearance of a watch crown. The cap top has the Chronoswiss logo and the cap band is engraved “Chronoswiss Ag 925 Germany.”
The concerned pen has never been used nor inked. Excellent, near mint condition. Original patina to the silver fittings.
Full set configuration, all original boxes and papers are included:
Zippered Etui (light signs of wear), note pad, extra OB nib (provided in a stoppered vial), Styloscope Guarantee, original Chronoswiss tag, dark green outer box.
* Quotations excerpted from the booklet accompanying the Chronoswiss Styloscope pen:
"Styloscope” The Chronoswiss Fountain-Pen Set.
"My watches are only authentic with this fountain-pen”
This isn’t merely the slogan that characterizes the Chronoswiss philosophy. It's also a concrete fact.
Gerd-R. Lang, Chronoswiss's founder and owner, personally signs all 7,000 guarantee certificates each year.
And he signs them with complete confidence.
Thus far, he has autographed each certificate with a rare 1992 "Demonstrator" fountain-pen from Pelikan. Originally developed as a display object for specialized dealers, this model was manufactured in an exclusive edition for the US. market.
To commemorate Chronoswiss's 20th anniversary, Lang has made a personal wish come true by creating a new version of his favorite writing implement in typical Chronoswiss style.
This unique fountain-pen reinterprets the world of mechanisms and embodies an incomparable aesthetic.
"Something special, then as now"
In every era, there have always been certain things that are unique and special, that
have a value which far exceeds mere material considerations.
The heart of every fountain-pen is its nib.
Each nib on every Chronoswiss Styloscope is manufactured and engraved with the utmost perfection and precision in every detail.
Exactly 999 specimens of the limited-edition Styloscope have been manufactured, and each one of these writing implements is individually engraved on its cap ring and hand-engraved with the brand's trademark on its barrel.
The top of each cap is adorned with the unmistakable Chronoswiss logo. The onion-shaped crown that distinguishes Chronoswiss timepieces reappears in this fountain pen's cap clip, which has been manufactured exclusively for this edition.
Special attention has been given to the classical design elements of the Chronoswiss brand, for example, the threaded clip nut and the channeled end ring on the pen's barrel.
A Styloscope is recognizable at first glance.
