    Description

MLB Authenticated - Zack Wheeler vs Aaron Nola Game-Used Baseball. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On June 27, 2019, the New York Mets visited the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. It was Throwback Thursday, as the Phillies wore their throwback blue uniforms. Before they were teammates, Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler squared off against each other in this game. Nola stuck out 10 and gave up only one hit (to Wheeler, as it turned out). Wheeler struck out seven and gave up only two hits (including a solo home run to Bryce Harper). In the top of the third, Amed Rosario reached on an error by Maikel Franco. Juan Lagares followed that with a strikeout. Wheeler then walked to the plate. NOLA HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He started Wheeler off with a knuckle curve that was called a strike. (Yes, that means JT Realmuto also touched this ball!!) Nola followed that with another knuckle curveball. WHEELER SQUARED TO BUNT AND FOULED OFF THIS BALL!! This ball was then retired. Wheeler eventually struck out. The game remained a pitchers’ duel to the ninth, with the Phillies up 1-0. Pete Alonso led off the ninth by grounding out to third. Michael Conforto singled to Harper. Todd Frazier than rocked Hector Neris for a two-run home run to put the Mets ahead. The Mets added an insurance run when Rosario knocked in Dominic Smith. In the bottom of the ninth, Edwin Diaz walked Cesar Hernandez. Franco then tied the game with a two-run home run! Edwin then walked Sean Rodriguez and gave up a hit to Scott Kingery. Jean Segura then blasted a three-run walk-off home run, and the Phillies won 6-3! This ball is MLB Authenticated for both pitches from Nola to Wheeler, including Wheeler’s foul bunt. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
