MLB Authenticated - Roman Quinn/Jordan Yamamoto/Enyel De Los Santos Game-Used Baseball. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On June 23, 2019, the Miami Marlins visited the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Jordan Yamamoto, making his third career start, took the mound for the Marlins. (Yamamoto was the first pitcher since something like 1893 to start his career with two seven-inning scoreless outings.) Enyel De Los Santos started for the Phillies. In the bottom of the second, De Los Santos led off. On the fifth pitch, YAMAMOTO HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a four-seam fastball, striking out De Los Santos — YAMAMOTO’S 14th CAREER STRIKEOUT by my count!! (Yes, that also means Bryan Holaday touched this ball!!) Roman Quinn then walked to the plate. Yamamoto still held this ball. He threw a four-seamer for a ball. He followed that with another fastball for a called strike. His next pitch — a two-seamer — was a ball. On his fifth pitch with this baseball (fourth pitch to Quinn), Yamamoto threw a 91.8 mph four-seam fastball, and QUINN FOULED OFF THIS BALL!! This ball was then retired. Quinn eventually ground out to Brian Anderson. The Marlins went on to win 6-4 behind hits by Miguel Rojas, Harold Ramirez, Garrett Cooper, Anderson, Starlin Castro, Cesar Puello, JT Riddle, and Holaday. It was YAMAMOTO’S third career win. (The Phillies got hits only from Bryce Harper, Jean Segura, and Cesar Hernandez, with Rhys Hoskins, Scott Kingery, Jay Bruce, Andrew Knapp, JT Realmuto, Brad Miller, and Maikel Franco all going hitless.) This ball is MLB Authenticated for all five pitches from Yamamoto, including his strike out of De Los Santos and Quinn’s foul ball. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
