MLB Authenticated - Marwin Gonzalez vs Hector Neris Game-Used Baseball. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On April 7, 2019, the Minnesota Twins visited the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Jose Berrios started for the Twins, while Zach Eflin went for the Phillies. In the top of the ninth, Hector Neris was on the mound for the Phillies. Martin Gonzalez led off. Gonzalez worked the count to 2-1. On the fourth pitch, NERIS HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw an 85.3 mph splitter for a ball. (Yes, that means JT Realmuto also touched this ball!!). Neris followed that with another splitter for a called strike. With the count full, Neris threw another splitter, and GONZALEZ FOULED OFF THIS BALL!! This ball was then retired. Gonzalez eventually grounded out. Jonathan Schoop then struck out. Nelson Cruz, pinch hitting for Ehire Adrianza, struck out to end the game. The Twins lost 2-1 despite hits from Max Kepler, Eddie Rosario, Jason Castro, Adrianza, and Gonzalez. (The Phillies got hits from Rhys Hoskins, Maikel Franco, and Realmuto, with Andrew McCutchen, Jean Segura, Bryce Harper, Odubel Herrera, and Cesar Hernandez going hitless.) This ball is MLB Authenticated for all three pitches from Neris to Gonzalez, including Gonzalez’s fouls ball. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
