MLB Authenticated - Kike Hernandez 70th Career HOME RUN On Clemente Day!!. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail plus Signature Required (which is why handling is high). On September 9, 2020, the Los Angeles Dodgers visited the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Clayton Kershaw started for the Dodgers, while Taylor Clarke went for the Dbacks. Mookie Betts led off the game with a home run! In the top of the second, Will Smith led off by flying out to Daulton Varsho. Gavin Lux flew out to Tim Locastro. Enrique “Kike” Hernandez walked to the plate. Hernandez wore #21 in honor of Roberto Clemente, as many Puerto Rican players did on Roberto Clemente Day! Hernandez fouled off the third pitch, making the count 1-2. CLARKE THEN HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a four-seam fastball for a ball. (Yes, that means Carson Kelly also touched this ball!!) He followed that with another 94.5 mph four-seamer for a ball. Clarke threw another four-seamer, and HERNANDEZ SMOKED THIS BALL 414 FEET FOR HIS FOURTH HOME RUN OF 2020 AND THE 70th HOME RUN OF HIS CAREER (by my count)!! The Dodgers and Diamondbacks had a seesaw battle. But the Dodgers won 6-4 in 10 innings off hits by Betts, Chris Taylor, Max Muncy, AJ Pollock, and of course, Hernandez. (Corey Seager, Cody Bellinger, Smith, and Lux all went hitless.) This ball is MLB Authenticated for all three pitches from Clarke to Hernandez, including Hernandez’s home run!! Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
