    Description

MLB Authenticated - Jon Berti Single & Pablo Lopez Fly Out Off Vince Velasquez. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On September 27, 2019, the Miami Marlins visited the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies won in 15 innings on a walk-off error! Pablo Lopez started the game for the Marlins, while Vince Velasquez went for the Phillies. In the top of the fourth, Tyler Heineman led off by grounding out to Rhys Hoskins. Lopez walked to the plate. With the count 0-2, VELASQUEZ HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw an 80.6 mph knuckle curve, and LOPEZ DRIVE THIS BALL 321 FEET TO BRAD MILLER IN LF FOR THE SECOND OUT!! This ball stayed in play. (I would guess Miller threw this ball to Scott Kingery, who played shortstop that game.) Jon Berti came to bat. Velasquez started him off with a knuckle curveball for a called strike. (Yes, that means Andrew Knapp also touched this ball!) Velasquez then threw a 94.8 mph four-seamer that Berti nicked for a foul. (The ball must have stayed around the plate to be left in the game.). On the fourth pitch with this ball, Velasquez threw a knuckle curveball, and BERTI POKED THE BALL TO MILLER IN LF FOR A SINGLE!! This ball was then retired. Miguel Rojas singled, but the half inning ended when Rojas was picked off while Starlin Castro was at bat. The Marlins also got hits from Austin Dean, Isan Diaz, Harold Ramirez, and Martin Prado but lost 5-4. (The Phillies got hits from Cesar Hernandez, Sean Rodriguez, Bryce Harper, Miller, Phil Gosselin, Knapp, Maikel Franco, and Adam Haseley.) This ball is MLB Authenticated for all four pitches by Velasquez, including Berti’s single and Lopez’s fly out to Miller. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
