On April 6, 2021, the Pittsburgh Pirates visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Trevor Cahill started for the Pirates, while Wade Miley went for the Reds. In the top of the seventh, Sal Romano took over for Miley. On the first pitch, he got Colin Moran to ground out to Kyle Farmer. Phillip Evans then smashed a home run. Jacob Stallings walked to the plate. With the count 2-1, ROMANO HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 94.4 mph sinker, and STALLINGS LAUNCHED THIS BALL NEARLY 300 FEET TO LINE OUT TO NICK SENZEL!! Erik Gonzalez came to bat. ROMANO STILL HELD THIS BALL!! He threw an 87.6 mph slider, and GONZALEZ FOULED OFF THIS BALL!! This ball was then retired. Gonzalez eventually ended the half inning by grounding out to Eugenio Suarez. The Pirates ended up losing 14-1, getting hits only from Kevin Newman, Bryan Reynolds, Dustin Fowler, Evans, and Moran.
