    Description

MLB Authenticated - Hisashi Iwakuma Gets Matthew Dominguez To Ground Out Baseball. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. On May 25, 2014, the Houston Astros visited the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. Dallas Keuchel started for the Astros, while Hisashi Iwakuma was on the mound for the Mariners. Prior to joining the Mariners, Iwakuma pitched for the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes and then the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. In 2005, he was the Eagles’ Opening Day starter against the Chiba Lotte Marines. He repeated the feat in 2007 against the Seibu Lions and 2008 against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. In 2009, Iwakuma started Opening Day, beating Yu Darvish when Iwakuma threw just 59 pitches in six innings. Iwakuma signed with the Mariners before the 2012 season. And on May 25, 2014, in the bottom of the second inning, Iwakuma HELD THIS BALL. Jason Castro had just singled off him. But Iwakuma coaxed Matt Dominguez to Kyle Seager, who threw over to Robinson Cano to force our Castro. The Astros, however, went on to win 4-1 behind hits by Jose Altuve, George Springer, Dexter Fowler, Castro, Dominguez, Marc Krauss, Alex Presley, and Marwin Gonzalez. (The Mariners only got hits from Seager, Mike Zunino, Michael Saunders, and Cole Gillespie.) This ball is MLB Authenticated as pitched by Iwakuma to Dominguez for his ground out. Iwakuma played with the Mariners through 2017. He now plays for the Yomiuri Giants. Thank you for purchasing!!
