    Description

MLB Authenticated - Anthony Rizzo Grounder to Joey Votto off Tyler Mahle. Shipped USPS Priority.
On May 2, 2021, the Chicago Cubs visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Trevor Williams started for the Cubs, while Tyler Mahle went for the Reds. Ian Happ led off the game with a double to Nicholas Castellanos. Kris Bryant drove in Happ with a double to Jesse Winker. Javier Baez struck out swinging. Anthony Rizzo then walked to the plate. MAHLE HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw an 85.7 mph slider for a called strike. (Yes, that means Tucker Barnhart also touched this ball!!) Mahle came back with an 84.5 mph splitter, and RIZZO SMASHED THIS BALL 105 MPH TO JOEY VOTTO, WHO STEPPED ON FIRST BASE TO GET RIZZO WHILE BRYANT MOVED TO THIRD!! This ball was then retired. Matt Duffy ended the half inning by striking out. The Cubs went on to score 12 runs behind hits by Happ, Bryant, Baez, Rizzo, Duffy, Nico Hoerner, Tony Wolters, and Jake Marisnick but lost 13-12 in extra innings. This ball is MLB Authenticated for both pitches from Mahle to Rizzo, including Rizzo’s ground out to Votto. Please note that this ball does not come with a case. Thank you for purchasing!!
