1975 BMW R-Series

Description

You are bidding on my 1975 BMW R90/6. I purchased the bike new in 1975 and everything on it is original except for the aftermarket mufflers and routine maintenance. Features include a Luftmeister fiberglass fairing with the original halogen headlight, factory blue paint, buddy backrest with luggage rack, long range tank (5.8 GL), and crash bars. The odometer is inop, was sent out for repair in 2004 and has since failed again. The trip odometer continues to work, however. I estimate under 20K miles total. There is a repairable ding on right side of fuel tank visible in the drive-by photo. The bike was partially restored by a BMW dealer to running condition in 2005.
In 2007 my college aged son decided it had to become a cafe racer and everything that didn't hold it together or make it go had to come off. All original parts per the photo with my much younger son in the driver's seat have been retained and are serviceable. Bike is currently in cafe racer trim, as in the photos, awaiting reassembly to interstate armchair condition and will require a serviceable battery.
