Description
How cool is this? A vintage game used foul ball of the bat of Hall of Famer Roy Campanella from a game in 1956 between the Dodgers & Cardinals.Luckily the fan who caught the foul ball documented the history of the ball right on it. Preserved for all time.
Handwritten on one panel is “August 22, 1956 Pitched by Larry Jackson St Louis Fouled by Roy Campanella Brooklyn”.
Toning and spotting is seen throughout including minor chipping which is expected from a vintage game-used baseball.
The stampings are somewhat faded, but enough of them are there to determine this indeed is a 1952-1957
Official National League baseball.

One other pretty cool fact to add about this ball.
The batter prior to Campy's at bat in the top of the 8th vs Jackson was Jackie Robinson. #42 hit into a Fielders Choice then up came Roy and his foul ball. So was this ball also hit by Jackie, fun to think about for sure.
